Daily Daisies

I was reading a book recently and the author described how in the midst of difficult circumstances, she decided to watch for the next beautiful moment.  She found joy as she would anticipate and appreciate each thing, big or small, and then, when it came, excitedly awaited when the next one would show up.

The idea of purposefully looking for and celebrating the positive things along the way may seem a little too simple, maybe cliche, but something about it and her cheerfulness in talking about it, moved me. I  tend to have a constant negative loop playing in my head of hurtful things people say at work or how awful a driver behaved or how I have failed myself or others and what I should have done or said differently that caused someone to respond to me in a negative way. But the positive stuff? The beautiful stuff? Usually nothing more than a momentary smile as it happens and then it's gone, lost in the sea of life's challenges.

So I started Daily Daisies.  Daisies are my absolute favorite flower. They are just happy flowers. Seriously, I cannot look at a daily without smiling. This is my field of Daily Daisies-bouquets of happy moments along the way.
